An elliptic problem with discontinuous sublinear nonlinearities in \(\mathbb{R}^{N}\) (Q1849010)

The authors consider the following elliptic problem with discontinuous sublinear nonlinearities in \(\mathbb{R}^N(N\geq 3)\): \[ \begin{cases} -\Delta u= K(x)u^q h(u-a),\;& x\in \mathbb{R}^N\\ u(x)>0,\;& x\in\mathbb{R}^N\\ u\in C^{1, \alpha}_{ \text{loc}} (\mathbb{R}^N)\cap D_0^{1,2}(\mathbb{R}^N), \end{cases}\tag{1} \] where \(h(t)= \begin{cases} 1 & \text{ as }t\geq 0\\ 0 & \text{ as }t<0 \end{cases}\) and \(a>0\) is a real parameter, \(0<\alpha <1\), \(0<q<1\), \(K(x)\) is a given measurable function with the property \(K(x)\in L^\infty (\mathbb{R}^N)\), \(D\not\equiv K(x)\geq 0\) and \(K(x)=O (|x|^{-\mu})\) for \(|x|\) large and some \(\mu>2\). The authors present the existence of solutions of (1) and asymptotic behaviour of them.
