Primitive elements in free groups are those elements that can be part of a free basis of the group. The purpose of this paper is to study the distribution of the primitive elements inside of a free group. The way for doing this is to relate them to the concentric balls of elements. (Two kinds of density are considered, the natural one and the exponential one.)
