Keeping statistics alive in documents (Q1855622)

The paper focuses on the possibility of application of the component technology in document generation for statistical computing. Such technology in principle allows composing documents, such as reports and status cards, as well as other documents like methodological papers or teaching materials, from predefined reusable components. The authors start with the notion of an ``integrated document'' and give an example of what they mean by ``software component'' in statistical computing. Then they discussed the necessary requirements on tools for making documents and give a general idea how to cope with them in an implementation.
