Consider the initial value problem \((*)\) \(dx/dt = f(t,x,y) + g(t,x,y)\), \(\varepsilon \, dy/dt = F (t,x,y) + G (t,x,y)\) with \(x,y \in \mathbb{R}\), \(0 < \varepsilon \leq \varepsilon_0 \ll 1,\) \((**)\) \(x(0) = x_0\), \(y(0) = y_0.\) Let \((\underline{x}_0 (t), \underline{y}_0 (t))\) and \((\overline{x}_0 (t), \overline{y}_0 (t))\) be ordered coupled lower and upper solutions to \((*), (**)\), on \(J = [0,T].\) The author derives suitable conditions on \(f,g,F,G\) (monotonicity, one-sided Lipschitz conditions) such that there exist sequences \((\underline{x}_i (t), \underline{y}_i (t)), \;(\overline{x}_i (t), \overline{y }_i (t)), \;i=0,1,2,\dots\), converging monotonically to the coupled minimal and maximal solutions to \((*), (**).\) The author also considers the transition \(\varepsilon \rightarrow 0\) under some additional boundedness condition. Concerning this process, the reviewer is not able to follow the argumentation of the author for \(t=0\).
