In a former paper [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 247, 328-330 (2000; Zbl 0957.26011)], the author has introduced a function which enabled him to obtain a refinement of the generalized form of Hölder's inequality for sums. In this note this result is further generalized. The case of equality is also studied.
