Basically, a polytopal algebra is a homogeneous coordinate ring of a projective normal toric variety. Several previous papers of the authors are devoted to studying similarities between the category of vector spaces over a field \(k\) and that of polytopal algebras Pol\((k)\) [cf. \textit{W. Bruns} and \textit{J. Gubeladze}, Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 354, 179--203 (2002; Zbl 1012.18005)]. In this paper, the authors prove that the polytopal Picard group, notion that they introduce as the group of certain autoequivalences of Pol\((k)\), is trivial, like in the case of vector spaces. Furthermore, they conjecture that any homomorphism in Pol\((k)\) is obtained from the trivial ones by a sequence of standard procedures encoded in the shapes of the underlying polytopes. Finally, it is worthwhile to add that higher theoretic aspects of polytopal linear objects have been treated by \textit{W. Bruns} and \textit{J. Gubeladze} [Manuscr. Math. 109, 367--404 (2002; Zbl 1025.19002), J. Pure Appl. Algebra 184, 175--228 (2003; Zbl 1028.19001)].
