Let \(k\) be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, \(Q\) a quiver with no oriented cycles, \(I\) an admissible ideal of relations in the path algebra \(kQ\) of \(Q\), and \(\beta\) a dimension vector for \(Q\). Denote by \(\text{Rep}(Q/I,\beta)\) the affine variety of \(\beta\)-dimensional representations of the algebra \(kQ/I\). Recall that there is a regular action of a product of general linear groups on \(\text{Rep}(Q/I,\beta)\) such that two points are in the same orbit if and only if they correspond to equivalent representations. The authors call an irreducible component \(X\) of \(\text{Rep}(Q/I,\beta)\) faithful, if for any non-zero element \(p\) in the algebra \(kQ/I\) there is a representation \(V\) belonging to \(X\) such that \(V(p)\) is non-zero. The main result of the paper is that the algebra of semi-invariant polynomial functions on a faithful component is generated by semi-invariants \(c^V\) introduced by \textit{A. Schofield} [J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 43, No. 3, 385-395 (1991; Zbl 0779.16005)], where \(V\) is a representation of \(kQ/I\) having projective dimension one. Moreover, an example is shown that unlike in the case of quivers (with no relations), these rings of semi-invariants do not have saturated sets of weights in general. Semi-invariants of quivers with relations were studied also by the reviewer [in Manuscr. Math. 108, No. 1, 123-133 (2002; Zbl 1031.16014)].
