    Let \(\mathcal A\) denote the class of functions \(f\) of the form \(f(z)= z + \sum_{n=2}^{\infty} a_{n}z^{n}\), analytic and univalent in \({\mathcal U} =\{ z: | z| <1 \}\). The authors extend the results by \textit{R. Singh} and \textit{S. Singh} [Colloq. Math. 47, 309--314 (1982; Zbl 0526.30015)] to obtain sufficient conditions for close-to-convexity (of order \(\alpha\)) in the form of one-sided estimates of \(\text{Re}\frac{zf''(z)}{f'(z)}\), \(z \in \mathcal U\). Similar conditions for starlikeness and convexity of order \(\alpha\) are also found.
