The authors provide sufficient conditions for the existence of nonnegative solutions to the following nonlocal boundary value problem \[ x''(t)+q(t)f(x(t),x'(t))=0 \text{ a.e. in }[0,1];\;x(0)=0\text{ and }x(1)=\int_0^1 x'(s)dg(s). \] They use the fixed-point theorem of Krasnoselskii to prove the existence of nonnegative solutions to a related auxiliary problem and then, using the Arzela-Ascoli theorem, they show that the set of the above solutions is precompact in the space \( C^1{[0,1]}\). Some misprints: in the differential equation \(f\) depends on two variables \(x,x'\), but in the text \(f\) is assumed to depend on three variables \(t,x,x'\). This, however, does not diminish the interesting value of the paper.
