A fibred system is a dynamical system \(T:Y\to Y\) on a metric space \(Y\) that forms a fibre bundle over another system \(S:X\to X\), which is preserved by the dynamics of \(T\) by means of a factor map \(\pi:Y\to X\). The purpose of this paper is to identify the relation between systems having expansive fibre maps and systems whose fibre maps are Ruelle expanding. The author proves the following statement. Let \(Y=(Y,T,X,S, \pi)\) be a fibrewise uniformly expansive and uniformly fibrewise open, uniformly continuous system, whose fibres are uniformly continuous in the Hausdorff metric induced by the metric \(d\) on \(Y\). Then there exists a topologically equivalent and bounded metric \(\rho\) for \(Y\) with respect to which \(Y\) is fibrewise Ruelle expanding and fibrewise Lipschitz, and \(\pi\) is a strong contraction.
