Transitive permutation groups of prime-squared degree (Q1862989)

In this paper, some description results are given of transitive permutation groups of degree \(p^2\) with \(p\) prime. In particular, a classification is given of such groups whose Sylow \(p\)-subgroup is not isomorphic to the wreath product \(Z_p\wr Z_p\). Then these results are applied to solve the isomorphism problem for Cayley objects of a group of order \(p^2\). This paper also contains some results regarding Cayley graphs of order \(p^2\) and their automorphism groups.
