The paper deals with a stabilization problem for a model of indirect transmission of infectious diseases via the pollution of the environment due to the infective population with random dispersal of the pollutant. Assuming that the susceptible population is so large with respect to the infective part to be considered constant, the authors provide conditions for the exponential decay of the epidemic in the whole habitat based on the elimination of the pollutant in a certain subregion.
