In his set of ``Questions on quantization'', Rieffel raised in \S 18 the problem: ``Are the \(K\)-groups of the \(C^*\)-algebra completions of the algebras of any strict deformation quantization all isomorphic?'' [\textit{M. A. Rieffel}, Contemp. Math. 228, 315--326 (1998; Zbl 1083.53506)]. The author considers strict deformation quantization on Poisson manifold on which a finite group acts preserving the Poisson bracket. Recall that a strict quantization is called flabby if the *-algebra of the strict deformation quantization contains the algebra of smooth functions of compact support on the considered orbifold. The answer of the paper under review to this question raised by Rieffel is negative for the case of orbifolds. In order to prove this, the author furnishes the counter-example of the Poisson orbifold \(X:=T^4/{\mathbb{Z}_2}\), where \(T^n\) denotes the \(n\)-torus, and shows that the rank of the group \(K^0(X)\) is greater than 24. This is in contrast to the rank of the \(K^0\) group of the symmetrized non-commutative torus [\textit{M. A. Rieffel}, Contemp. Math. 105, 191--211 (1990; Zbl 0713.46046)]. The proof is based on an exact sequence in \(K\)-theory applied to the \(K3\)-surface obtained by blowing up the 16 singular points of the orbifold \(X\).
