Two-dimensional representations of the free group with two generators over a finite field (Q1864957)

Vaserstein-Wheland described all two-dimensional \(F\)-representations of the free group on two generators, for any field \(F\). In the case of finite \(F\), the present paper enumerates all representations, all irreducible representations, and all absolutely irreducible representations, as well as the similarity classes of these representations.
