Given a polynomial \(f\in {\mathbb{R}}[x,y]\) and a polynomial 1-form \(\omega\) on \({\mathbb{R}}^2\), the number of isolated ovals \(\delta\) on the level curves \(f\)=const satisfying the condition \(I=\oint _{\delta}\omega =0\) shows how many of these ovals can survive as limit cycles in the perturbed Hamiltonian system with Hamiltonian \(f\). This number is to be estimated via the degrees of \(f\) and \(\omega\); this is the infinitesimal Hilbert's 16th problem. To give such an estimate in the case of semiquasihomogeneous Hamiltonians, the author uses the fact that the integrals \(I\) satisfy the Picard-Fuchs system of linear ordinary differential equations with regular singularities. The algorithm for the derivation of the Picard-Fuchs system proposed by the author is based on an effective decomposition of polynomial forms in the Brieskorn lattice. The estimate is done in terms of the norms of the coefficients of the Picard-Fuchs system.
