The paper concerns the family \({\mathcal S}^n\) of star bodies in \(\mathbb{ R}^n\) (i.e. bodies which are star-shaped at 0, with 0 in the body and the radial function continuous) and the family \(\Omega^n\) of all maps of \(\mathbb{ R}^n\) into itself preserving \({\mathcal S}^n\). It is closely related to the paper by \textit{M. Moszyńska} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 232, 45--60 (1999; Zbl 0928.54007)]. In Section 2 the author proves that (in contrary to a statement in [loc. cit.]) the family \(GS(n)\) of all positively homogeneous homeomorphisms of \(\mathbb{ R}^n\) onto \(\mathbb{ R}^n\) is not the largest family of maps preserving \({\mathcal S}^n\). The main result is Theorem 2.8, which characterizes \(\Omega^n\). In Section 3 the author gives a solution of a problem raised in [loc. cit.].
