The paper proceeds with the investigations started in [\textit{V. M. Aleksandrov} and \textit{B. I. Smetanin}, Prikl. Mat. Mekh. 54, No. 5, 825--830 (1990)]. The authors discuss the problem on supersonic longitudinal wedging of an elastic strip with allowance for the friction forces occurring on the interface of the rigid wedging body and the elastic strip.
