The author proves that cocompact lattices in semisimple Lie groups with restricted root system of type \(A_2\) satisfy property (RD) of Jolissaint. He follows the methods of \textit{V. Lafforgue} in [J. Lie Theory 10, 255--267 (2000; Zbl 0981.46046)] who proved this result for \(SL_3(\mathbb R)\) and \(SL_3(\mathbb C)\).
