Substitudes (or lax procomonoidal categories), here defined as enriched categories equipped with an abstract substitution process, generalize both monoidal categories, operads and multicategories. Two convolution constructions are studied. One has also braided and symmetric substitudes. In this framework, each substitude can be symmetrized in a simple way (which not appears for monoidal categories).
