If the product of the parts of a partition and the product of the factorials of its exponents are taken over all partitions of a given integer \(n\), then they are seen to be equal. In this note the author not only reproves this result via the representation theory of the symmetric group but then generalises it, which consequently relates \(p\)-sections of partitions to the \(p\)-modular representation theory of the symmetric group. In addition, some constants that arise in this context have generating functions derived for them.
