The authors give a method for constructing dense and free subgroups in real Lie groups. The main results of this paper are the following theorems. Theorem 1.1. Let \(G\) be a connected semi-simple real Lie group and \(\Gamma\) a dense subgroup of \(G\). Then \(\Gamma\) contains two elements which generate a dense free subgroup of \(G\). Theorem 1.2. Let \(G\) be a connected real Lie group and suppose that \([G, G]\) is dense in \(G\). If its Lie algebra is generated by \(r\) elements, then any dense subgroup includes a dense free subgroup of rank \(r\). Theorem 1.3. Let \(G\) be a connected non-soluble real Lie group of dimension \(d\). Then any finitely generated dense subgroup of \(G\) includes a dense free subgroup of rank \(2d\).
