Equivariant gerbes over compact simple Lie groups. (Q1871477)

Given a compact simple Lie group \(G\), the authors apply the general construction from a joint paper of the first two authors [ibid. 336, No. 2, 163--168 (2003; Zbl 1039.58016)] for constructing a \(G\)-equivariant gerbe over \(G\) whose Dixmier-Douady class equals a generator of the third equivariant cohomology group \(H^3_G(G)\). The construction is based on passing from the transformation groupoid to a Morita equivalent infinite-dimensional symplectic groupoid for which such a gerbe is constructed by methods of Poisson geometry.
