If \(w(x)= (1- x^2)^{-1/2}\), \(-1< x< 1\), and \(f\) is a Lebesgue measurable function on \([-1,1]\), then for \(1\leq p< \infty\), \((\int_{[-1,1]}| f(t)|^p w(t)\,dt)^{1/p}\) is denoted by \(\| f\|_{p,w}\), and \(\{f:\| f\|_{p,w}< \infty\}\) is denoted by \(L_{p,w}= L_{p,w}(-1,1)\). Let \(a= (a_j,\,j= 1,2,3,\dots)\) be a sequence of nonnegative numbers for which \(\sum\{a_j z^j,\,j= 1,2,3,\dots\}\) is an entire function of a complex variable \(z\), and let \(\{p_j> 1,\,j= 1,2,3,\dots\}\) be a sequence of real numbers. If \(f\in\bigcap_{j\geq 1} L_{p_j,w}\), let \({\mathbf I}(f, z)= \sum^\infty_{j=1} a_j z^j\| f\|_{p_j,w}\). The space \(B_{a,w}\) is defined by \[ B_{a,w}= \Biggl\{f\in \bigcap_{j\geq 1} L_{p_j,w}:{\mathbf I}(f, \lambda_f)< \infty\text{ for some number }\lambda_f\Biggr\}, \] and \(\| f\|_{B_{a,w}}= \inf\{1/\lambda:{\mathbf I}(f, \lambda_f)\leq 1\}\). In one of the main theorems of this paper, the authors show that: If \(N= (q+ 1)n-1\), where \(n\), \(q\) are positive integers, if \(P(x)\), \(-1< x< 1\), is a polynomial of order \(< N\), and if \(1< p_0\), \(p^*< \infty\), where \[ p_0= \inf\{p_j,\, j=1,2,3,\dots\},\quad p^*= \sup\{p_j,\,j= 1,2,3,\dots\}, \] then for some positive constant \(C\), \[ \| P\|_{B_{a,w}}\leq C\inf \Biggl\{\beta^1: \sum^\infty_{j=1} a_j \beta^j((\pi/n) \sum^q_{m=0} \sum^n_{k=1} (((1- x^2_k)^{1/2}/n)^m| P^{(m)}(x_k)|)^{p_j})^{j/p_j}\leq 1\Biggr\}, \] where \(x_k= \cos(2k-1)\pi/2n\), \(k= 1,2,\dots, n\). First versions of the main inequalities involving trigonometric polynomials are contained in [\textit{J. Marcinkiewicz}, Stud. Math. 6, 1--17 (1936; Zbl 0016.01901)].
