Let \(\tau_{p,q} \subset S^{3}\) denote the \(p\),\(q\)-torus knot, where \(p\) and \(q\) are integers with \((p,q)=1\) and \(2\leq p<q\). It is known [\textit{C. McA. Gordon} and \textit{W. Heil}, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 35, 287-288 (1972; Zbl 0257.55002)] that if \(\phi : M \rightarrow S^{3}\) is a branched covering branched along \(\tau_{p,q}\), then \(M\) is an orientable Seifert manifold with orientable base and non-zero Euler number. In this article the converse of this result is shown. That is, each orientable Seifert manifold with orientable base and non-zero Euler number is a branched covering of \(S^{3}\) branched along \(\tau_{p,q}\) for any integers \(p\) and \(q\) with \((p,q)=1\) and \(2\leq p<q\). In addition, for a given torus knot \(\tau_{p,q}\) in \(S^{3}\), a list is computed of all \(n\)-fold cyclic branched coverings of \(S^{3}\) branched along \(\tau_{p,q}\) in terms of the standard Seifert symbols \((O, g, \beta_{1}/\alpha_{1},\beta_{2}/\alpha_{2}, \dots ,\beta_{t}/\alpha_{t})\).
