The author uses the fact that every projective plane of order 8 is desarguesian and the classification of ovals in this plane to prove that every Laguerre plane of order 8 is ovoidal. Since there are precisely two classes of ovals in the projective plane of order 8 there are also two isomorphism classes of Laguerre planes of order 8.
