The authors discuss the relationship between the Fréchet-Urysohn property and countable bounded tightness concerning function spaces and locally convex spaces and obtain results as below: A space \(Y\) is said to have countable bounded tightness \((t_b(Y)\leq \aleph_0)\) if for every \(A\) of \(Y\) and every \(y\in\overline A\) there exists a countable and bounding subset \(B\) of \(A\) such that \(y\in\overline B\) where \(B\) is bounding if \(f(B)\) is bounded for every real-valued continuous function \(f\) on \(Y\). Theorem 3. Let \(X\) be a Čech complete space. Then \(C_p(X)\) is Fréchet-Urysohn iff \(t_b(C_p(X))\leq \aleph_0)\). Let \(E\) be a locally convex space, \(E_\sigma= (E,\sigma(E,E'))\), where \(E'\) is the topological dual of \(E\). A locally convex space \(E\) is quasicomplete if every bounded and closed subset of \(E\) is complete. A space \(X\) is angelic if for every relatively countably compact set \(A\) of \(X\) the following holds: (a) \(A\) is relatively compact, (b) For each \(x\in\overline A\) there exists a sequence in \(A\) which converges to \(x\). Theorem 4. Let \(E\) be a locally convex space. If (1) \((E'',\sigma(E'',E'))\) is angelic, or (2) \(E\) is quasicomplete and \(E\) is angelic, or (3) \((E',\sigma(E', E))\) is separable and \(E_\sigma\) is angelic, then \(E_\sigma\) is Fréchet-Urysohn iff \(t_b(E_\sigma)\leq\aleph_0\).
