The author considers the equation \[ (\text{sgn}y)|y|^{m}u_{xx}+u_{yy}+(\beta _{0}/y)u_{y}=0 \] in a finite domain \(D\), bounded in the elliptic part \(\{y>0\}\) by the normal curve \(\sigma :x^{2}+\) \(4(m+2)^{-2}y^{m+2}=1\) with endpoints \(A(-1,0)\) and \(B(1,0)\) and by the characteristics \(AC\) and \(BC\) in the hyperbolic part \(\{y<0\}\). The Dirichlet conditions are prescribed on \(\sigma \) and on some part \(AC_{0}\) of the characteristic \(AC\). Instead of the Tricomi problem for the above equation, where as an addition a Dirichlet data of the solution on \(C_{0}C\) is prescribed, there is a nonlocal condition of Bitsadze-Samarskii type in the present paper. This condition is a connection between the values of the solution at some corresponding points from \(C_{0}C\) and from another parallel to its characteristic, inside the characteristic triangle ABC. The result of existence and uniqueness of this boundary value problem has been proved.
