The authors deal with the absolutely continuity of the spectrum of a Schrödinger operator. They prove that if a potential which is periodic in certain directions and super-exponentially decaying in the others is purely absolutely continuous. To this end they use the Bloch-Floquet-Gelfand transform. The authors agree that lemma 6.1 and lemma 6.2 are false as stated in the original. In the erratum they correct the proof of Theorem 6.1 accordingly.
