    The author considers the Cauchy problem for nonlinear strictly hyperbolic equations with log-Lipschitz in time coefficients as follows \[ \begin{gathered} P(t,x,D^{m-1} u, D_t, D_x) u(t, x)= f(t,x),\;(t,x)\in [0,T]\times \mathbb{R}^n,\\ \partial^j_t u(0,x)= g_j(x),\;j= 0,\dots, n-1.\end{gathered} \] Here \(D^{m-1} u\) denotes the vector \((\partial^\alpha_{j,x} u)_{|\alpha|\leq m-1}\) and \(D_t= -i\partial_t\), \(D_x= -\partial_x\). The operator \[ P(t,x,D^{m-1} u, D_t, D_x)= D_t+ \sum^{m-1}_{j= 0}\, \sum_{|\alpha|\leq m-j} a^{(j)}_\alpha(t, x, D^{m-1} u) D^j_t D^\alpha_x \] is strictly hyperbolic in the strip \([0,T]\times\mathbb{R}^n\) and the coefficients \(a^{(j)}_\alpha(t, x,w)\) satisfying \[ |\partial^\beta_x \partial^\gamma_w(a^{(j)}_\alpha(t, x,w)- a^{(j)}_\alpha(t', x,w))|\leq C_{\beta,\gamma}|t- t'|\,|\log| t- t'|\,|, \] for \(x\in \mathbb{R}^n\), \(w\in W\), \(0<|t- t'|<{1\over 2}\) and \(j+|\alpha|= m\) and \(a^{(j)}_\alpha(t,x,w)\in C([0,T]; B^\infty(\mathbb{R}^n\times W))\) for \(j+|\alpha|< m\). Then there exists \(\delta> 0\) and \(s_0> 0\) such that for any \(f\in C([0,T]; H^{s-m+1}(\mathbb{R}^n))\) and \(g_j\in H^{s-j}\), \(j= 0,\dots, m-1\), with \(s> s_0\), there exist \(T^*\leq T\) and a solution \(u\in\bigcap^m_{j=0} C^j([0, T^*]; H^{s-j-\delta T^*}(\mathbb{R}^n))\) to the above Cauchy problem which is unique in that space.
