The authors describe a coupled FE/BE-method for solving time-periodic magnetic field problems with movement. Solid bodies are discretized by a time-invariant FE approach, the deforming free space between moving bodies is treated with boundary elements, whereas the periodic time dependence is approximated by Fourier series. The method is described in detail for a two-dimensional eddy current problem. Numerical results for a conducting pendulum that swings in a magnetic field of a permanent magnet are given.
