Supercritical branching processes are studied which are Markovian in the age structure and where the reproduction parameters may depend on population size and the age structure of the population. The age chart of all individuals forms a Markov process. The generator of this process is given and a stochastic equation is derived, from which asymptotic behaviour of the process is obtained. General supercritical asymptotics then follows by means of \(L^2\) arguments and Tauberian theorems.
