Gravitational collapse in higher dimensional space-time (Q1878358)

The authors of this paper study the spherically symmetric inhomogeneous dust collapse in higher dimensional space-time. A naked singularity is analyzed in both cases: the non-marginal case and the marginally bound case. It is shown that a naked singularity is possible for any arbitrary dimension in the marginally bound case. For the same case the authors examine the radial null geodesics bounded by the singularity and show that a naked singularity is possible up to five dimensions.
