The Hilton-Milnor theorem says that the set of homotopy classes of maps of a suspension \(\Sigma X\) into a wedge of suspensions \(\bigwedge_1^r \Sigma Y_i\) is isomorphic to a direct sum of the sets of maps of \(\Sigma X\) into suspensions \(\Sigma Y_\gamma\) where \(Y_\gamma\) are formed using Whitehead products. This paper constructs the homomorphisms into the summands geometrically.
