The authors prove the following: Theorem. For \(\Omega\), \(\varphi\), \(\nu\), \(f\), and \(u_0\) sufficiently regular, there exists a family \(u(\cdot, t)\), \(t\geq0\), of strictly convex functions solving the Neumann boundary problem \[ \begin{cases} u_t=\log\det D^2u-\log f(x,Du)&\text{in } \Omega\times[0,+\infty),\\ D_\nu u=\varphi&\text{on }\partial\Omega\times(0,+\infty),\\ u(\cdot,0)=u_0&\text{in } \Omega, \end{cases} \] and, as \(t\to+\infty\), \(u(\cdot,t)\) converges smoothly to a translating solution, i.e. a solution with constant time derivative. The formulation considered here contains, as particular case, the Gauss curvature flow. A novelty for such a Neumann boundary problem is the fact that \(f\) and \(\varphi\) do not depend on \(u\), and hence there is not a monotonicity requirement with respect to \(u\). Two appendices give respectively an application to unbounded hypersurfaces with prescribed Gauss curvature, and to a numerical investigation of the convergence in a particular case.
