For a complex connected manifold \(X\), let \(H^\infty(X)\) be the set of all bounded holomorphic functions on \(X\). Suppose that \(r: \widetilde X\to X\) is the universal covering of \(X\). The subspace in \(H^\infty(\widetilde X)\) of functions invariant with respect to the action of the fundamental group \(\pi_1(X)\) is denoted by \(R\). In the present paper, the author generalizes results of \textit{F. Forelli} [Ill. J. Math. 10, 367--380 (1966; Zbl 0141.31401)] and \textit{P. Jones} and \textit{D. Marshall} [Ark. Mat. 23, 281--314 (1985; Zbl 0589.30028)] on the existence of continuous linear projections \(P:H^\infty(\widetilde X)\to R\) for which \(P(fg)=P(f)g \) for any \(f\in H^\infty(\widetilde X)\) and \(g\in R\). The techniques the author uses come from the theory of coherent Banach sheaves over Stein manifolds. The results are then applied to give solutions to the corona problem for certain subdomains \(U\subseteq \widetilde X\) and to describe the interpolating sequences for \(H^\infty(U)\).
