The author considers the autonomous three-dimensional, so-called Chua system \[ x'= \alpha(y- f(x)), \quad y'= x- y+ z, \quad z'= -\beta y, \] where \(f(x)= m_1 x+ (m_0- m_1)(| x+1|-| x-1|)/2\). It is proved that under suitable assumptions on the real parameters, the system is quasimonotone increasing in the sense of \textit{P. Volkmann} [Math. Z. 127, 157--164 (1972; Zbl 0226.34058)] with respect to an ellipsoidal cone in \(\mathbb{R}^3\), compare also \textit{R. J. Stern} and \textit{H. Wolkowicz} [SIAM J. Matrix Anal. Appl. 12, No. 1, 160--165 (1991; Zbl 0716.15015)], and is generating a strongly monotone flow. Under that kind of assumptions, the author gives conditions such that each positive semiorbit converges to an equilibrium.
