Let \(f\in {\mathbb Z}[x,y]\) be an integral primitive positive binary quadratic form with fundamental discriminant \(D<0\) and let \(r(f,n)=\#\{(x,y)\in {\mathbb Z}^{2}:f(x,y)=n\}\) be a number of representations of \(n\) by \(f\). Then \(\theta (f,z)=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty }r(f,n)e(nz),\) \(\text{Im}(z)>0\) is a modular form of weight 1. Let \(S(f,z)=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty }a(f,n)e(nz)\) be a the orthogonal projection with respect to the Petersson inner product of \(\theta (f,z)\) onto the subspace of cusp forms. \(S(f,z)\) is the associated cusp form, i.e., the projection of the theta series of \(f\) onto the subspace of cusp forms. In this paper, the author studies the cusp form coefficients \(a(f,n)\). He also studies for \(\beta >0\) the behaviour of the family of Dirichlet series \(A_{\beta }(f,s)=\sum_{n=1}^{\infty }\frac{| a(f,n)| ^{2\beta }}{n^{s}}\) and the function \(T_{\beta }(f,x)=\sum_{n\leq x}^{\infty }| a(f,n)| ^{2\beta }\). The number of sign changes of \(a(f,n)\) for \(n\leq x\) is estimated.
