The author studies the singularly perturbed equation \[ \varepsilon^2 \left(a^2(t)y'\right)' +f(y)=0, \tag \(*\) \] where \(a(t)\) is positive and \(C^1\), \(f\) is a polynomial of degree \(3\), \(f(0)=0\), and \(\varepsilon\) is a small parameter. Using Prüfer's transformation of coordinates, he shows the existence of a solution of equation \((*)\) for a suitable choice of the coefficients of the polynomial \(f\) and \(\varepsilon\) sufficiently small. This solution has an arbitrarily large number of zeroes (depending on \(\varepsilon\)), and an amplitude tending to \(0\). An estimate on the spacing between two successive zeroes is given.
