Let \(L\) and \(N\) be Lipschitz continuous, nonlinear operators from \(U\) to \(Y\), where \(U\) and \(Y\) are real or complex Banach spaces. Various notions of solvability for the operator equations \(Lx=y\) and \(Lx+Nx=y\), such as unique solvability, exact solvability and approximate solvability, are introduced. It is shown that, under some weak conditions, all these solvability notions are equivalent. Finally, the relative error of the solutions of \(Lx=y\) and \(Lx+Nx=y\) ia estimated and the results are applied to a nonlinear control system.
