A theorem of Fontaine and Abrashkin says that an abelian variety of positive dimension defined over the rational numbers cannot have good reduction everywhere. \textit{A. Brumer, K. Kramer} [Manuscr. Math. 106, No.3, 291--304 (2001; Zbl 1073.14544)] and \textit{R. Schoof} [Abelian varieties over \(\mathbb{Q}\) with bad reduction in one prime only, \texttt{http://arxiv.org/abs/math.NT/0502356}] have extended this and proved that there do not exists semi-stable abelian varieties defined over the rational numbers with good reduction outside the primes dividing \(N\) with \(N\in \{1,2,3,5,7,13\}\). This paper deals with the cases \(N=6\) and \(N=10\). Since the Jacobians \(J_0(N)\) yield abelian varieties with good reduction outside \(N\) for all square-free \(N \not\in \{ 1,2,3,5,6,7,10,13\}\) this is optimal. The paper rules out the remaining cases \(n=6\) and \(N=10\), though under the assumption of the GRH discriminant bounds of Odlyzko.
