A domain \(G\) in the extended complex plane \(\overline{{\mathbb R}}^2\) is a \(K\)-quasidisk (\(K\geq 1\)) if it is the image of a Euclidean disk or half plane under a \(K\)-quasiconformal self mapping \(f: \overline{{\mathbb R}}^2\to \overline{{\mathbb R}}^2\). There are over two dozen known characterizations of quasidisks. Among them are two, which contain conformal invariants, the quasisymmetry of harmonic measure and the conjugate quadrilateral inequality. These two characterizations of quasidisks have been established previously by independent methods. In this paper, the authors establish their equivalence by using the boundary homeomorphism \(h: \partial{\mathbb D}\to \partial{\mathbb D}\) induced by the conformal mappings of the Jordan domain \(G\) and of its exterior \(G^*=\overline{{\mathbb R}}^2\setminus \overline{G}\) onto the unit disk \(\mathbb D\). This is an interesting method, which sheds more light on the geometry of Jordan domains and hence advances the study of quasidisks and John domains.
