Recently numerical invariants of algebraic foliations have been studied by \textit{D. Cerveau} and \textit{A. Lins Neto} [Ann. Inst. Fourier 41, 883-904 (1991; Zbl 0734.34007)], \textit{E. Esteves} and \textit{S. Kleiman} [Bull. Braz. Math. Soc. (N.S.) 34, No.1, 145--169 (2003; Zbl 1048.37049)] and \textit{M.G. Soares} [An. Acad. Bras. Ciênc. 73, No.4, 475-482 (2001; Zbl 1008.32019)]. In particular they have been interested in establishing relations between the number of singularities of a foliation and certain Chern numbers. In the present work the following two nice results are proved: {Theorem A}. Let \(\mathcal S^1\) be the scheme of degenerate singularities in a pencil of fibrations with cotangent fiber \(L\) over a smooth projective variety \(M\). When \(\mathcal S^1\) is finite \[ \deg(\mathcal S^1) =n\sum_0^n(n+1-i)\int_Mc_iH^{n-i}, \] where \(n=\dim M, H=c_1L\), and \(c_i=c_iTM\). {Theorem B}. Let \(M\) be a projective smooth surface and let \(\mathbf T\) be a net of foliations \(\mathcal F\) with cotangent fibre \(L\). Moreover, let \(\mathcal S^2\) be the set of pairs \((t,x)\in \mathbf T\times M\) such that \(x\) is a singular point of \(\mathcal F_t\) with a nilpotent linear part. When \(\mathcal S^2\) is finite it consists of \[ \deg(\mathcal S^2) =2\int_M(c_2+3c_1H+6H^2) \] points, counted with multiplicities, where \(H=c_1L\) and \(c_i=c_iTM\).
