The main result of the paper is that both projective and affine geometry of finite dimension \(n\geq 3\) can be axiomatized in terms of lines (as the only variables) and line intersections. We mention that this result is well known for the case of three-dimensional projective spaces. One of the consequences of the above result is that a surjective map between the sets of lines of two projective or affine spaces of the same dimension \(n\geq 3\) which maps intersecting lines into intersecting lines stem from collineations, or, for three-dimensional projective spaces, from correlations. Hence this map must be injective as well.
