      Let \(B^+_1=\{ x\in R^n: | x| <1, x_1>0\}\), \(n\geq 2\). The authors consider a free boundary problem for a uniformly elliptic fully nonlinear operator \(F\): \[ F(D^2u)=\chi_{\Omega}\;\text{ in } B^+_1, \] for an open set \(\Omega=\Omega(u)\subseteq B^+_1\) defined by \[ u=| \nabla u| =0 \text{ in } B^+_1\setminus \Omega, \qquad u=0 \text{ on } \Pi=\{ x_1=0 \}. \] It is proved that free and fixed boundaries meet tangentially at contact points.
