A space \(X\) has the weak Fréchet-Urysohn property (or the Reznichenko property) if for each \(A\subset X\) and each \(x\in \overline{A}\setminus A\) there is a family \(\{A_n:n\in\mathbb N\}\) of finite, pairwise disjoint subsets of \(A\) such that each neighborhood of \(x\) intersects \(A_n\) for all but finitely many \(n\). \textit{L. Kočinac} and \textit{M. Scheepers} [Topology Appl. 123, 135--143 (2002; Zbl 1011.54017)] conjectured that the minimal cardinality of a set \(X\) of reals such that the function space \(C_p(X)\) does not have the weak Fréchet-Urysohn property is \(\mathfrak b\), the unbounded number. The author proves that this conjecture is true.
