\textit{A. Voros} [``Exact WKB integration'' of the polynomial 1D Schrödinger (or Sturm-Liouville) problem, in Differential equations and the Stokes phenomenon. Proceedings of the conference, Groningen, Netherlands, May 28-30, 2001, Singapore: World Scientific, 293--308 (2002; Zbl 1043.81022)] has proved that the discrete spectrum \(E_0<E_1<E_2,\dots\) of the Schrödinger operator \((Hu)(q)=-\hbar^2\frac{d^2u}{dq^2}+q^{2M}u(q)\), \(M=2,3,\dots\) acting on \(L^2(\mathbb{R})\) is a fixed point of an explicit non-linear transformation. The author shows in the article under review that this fixed point is globally and exponentially attractive in spaces of properly normalized sequences. The proof consists in an explicit construction of the so called Voros map, denoted \(\mathcal{V}\), while the quantization rule is just the equation \(\mathcal{V}(P)=P\), which expresses the fact that \(P=(P_k)^{\infty}_{k=0}\) is a fixed point of the Voros map. Here \(E_i=\hbar^{\frac{1}{\mu}}P_i\), \(\mu =\frac{M+1}{2M}\). The Bohr-Sommerfeld quantization which has the exact spectrum \((k+\frac{1}{2})\hbar\), \(k=0,1,2,\dots\) corresponds to the case \(M=1\).
