Utilizing the fact that the population model under consideration can be transformed into a solvable system of differential equations, the author studies some three-dimensional model whose formulation is based upon nonlinear functional responses of the consumer species. The community structure consists of a predator and two independent preys. Criteria for the survival of all populations in the food web are established. The authors also discuss whether the dynamic behaviour of the model can be chaotic. In the concluding section, bifurcation diagrams are determined and discussed.
