The paper is an interesting contribution to the investigations of compactness and neighbouring notions for \(L\)-topological spaces. The authors introduce and study a new fuzzy compactness, termed near SR-compactness for \(L\)-subsets and for complete DeMorgan algebras. It is shown that their concept of near SR-compactness lies between those of Lowen's strong fuzzy compactness and SR-compactness of \textit{S. Bai} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 87, No. 2, 219--225 (1997; Zbl 0912.54009)]. The authors deduce some characterizations of their concept and compare it with related ones.
