The authors consider a problem of robust stabilization and guaranteed cost control for large-scale discrete-time linear time-invariant systems with delays in subsystem interconnections. They propose a dynamic decentralized output feedback controller which stabilizes the closed-loop system and guarantees an adequate value of the quadratic performance index. The design procedure is based on the direct Lyapunov method combined with linear matrix inequality approach, which in turn leads to convex optimization problem. The authors present a numerical example which illustrates the design technique. To solve the linear matrix inequality Matlab's LMI Control Toolbox is used. The model of the system does not contain uncertainties in the structure or parameters but the authors claim that they could be included and the proposed technique will be still applicable.
