\textit{A. G. Vitushkin} [Math. Notes 66, No.2, 245-249 (1999); translation from Mat. Zametki 66, No.2, 308-312 (1999; Zbl 0968.14036)] proved that the singularities of a mapping giving a counterexample to the Jacobian conjecture cannot be resolved under three blow-ups of \(\mathbb{C} \mathbb{P}^2\). For a larger number of blow-ups, the corresponding problem becomes much more difficult, in particular, because of the growing number of parameters. In the paper under review, the author shows how one can get rid of the redundant freedom in the choice of parameters for small number of blow-ups (less than 7) and describe a complete set of pairwise nonequivalent chains of blow-ups. An analogous result to that of A. G. Vitushkin, but under an additional restriction, is obtained.
